Wed. 2nd August 2006 at 6.11am:

As the tumblers click loudly and finally into place & realization manages to get its sneaky foot in the door, the Toad runs round in ever diminishing circles desperate to find a persona that can accept the inevitable....

Are there any among you that would administer the coup de grace? Indeed I think not.
Last night I couldnt sleep (not a problem I am over familiar with), so I crept out onto the verandah for a fag and a cough.

Sitting there it came to me how ironic it is that my Blog is titled "Humming..."
Am I a precog after all? Sort of? My ears literally sang to me. In no way painful but of course could affect animals in rather a different fashion...
And as i come here and begin typing? The TV suddenly screams with a static rush and once again my ears go deaf and waves of what? batter my eardrums.
Time to implode?

*think it will be something along the lines of multiplexed channel fibre, but using different colours of light for each channel. I think they are already using this in Telkom somewhere.
Means they can add more users and not have to increase the infrastructure...you know like may more people PAY and give then same service...ahh sounds all too familiar Reply With Quote

*Could this be the answer ??? OMW COULD it>?? That all the new lights draped on St. Theresa's Convent have such varying colours? hoooohooooooo howzat dudes? Course I still dont have a clue what channels for what but lol, at least its some sort of answer? I just cant get over how many deep oranges, nearly white and even greens there are :} Just luck hey heheh....
Thread called "Whats with all the cabling on the streetlights?" in myadsl forums my comment:

Rasputyn; *He recons that it might be the SNO using Eskom's existing infrastructure (light poles in this case) to develop their network.

It makes sense seeings that overhead infrastructure at this point would be a hell of a lot easier to install than digging everything up.*

Aha! At last someone is awake heheh.... now pay attention julle and hopefully rasputyn will tell you what Ive been whittering on about all this time. Tis Telkoms contribution to Big Brother and the Muni lol. Eish u guys ... and well done to rasputyn for his efforts.... forget telephone poles and think streetlight poles in Every case ! If u could just get your heads round - for SNO read Muni it might make some sense lol......hopefully u have a 5pixel or bigger camera as mine just wont take the twinkly lights at all...but try driving along the same route in the dark again and see if you can see sensor lights on the actual streetlight poles and photograph them for posterity? Then MOVE house.... your dad is so easy to trace and repurcussions, believe me i'm right there, Will occur in one way or another if you poke around too much lol.... be they enormous spikes, power cuts or something more subtle, his life will be made hell .... go carefully and keep up the excellent work.....

And I fully believe now that i AM invisible heheh... for I have to say that once the shiny silver bands are wrapped around these nice black cables? Eh ... I talk to the trees lol no matter :}
UPDATE FROM THE RATLAB SUBURBS OF SHERWOOD & SYDENHAM;
Since last nights rather feeble effort at blogging nothing much has changed.
Still way too many lights on over at St. Theresa's. They are looking decidedly wealthy. So I stood there at 4.00am this morning in the dark, wrapped in my anorak and clutching my ubiquitous notebook - wondering how to record faithfully those lights that I could see.
A tall order indeed.
The Senior Boys hostel is almost totally hidden behind the gumtrees and offers only tantalising glimpses of all the new lighting that they too have acquired.
As with most of my TransmitterSpotting, a stroke of luck after the sun rose...at the very top of what I would guess is Piedmont Road across the Freeway to the south? What appears to be an electricity pole with a really large white box attached to the top. I'm betting this box has a perfectly clear Line of Sight to St. Theresa's? Bingo?!
I'm also betting that in particular, the gerzillion candle-power lights randomly placed are not random at all and, apart from blinding and distracting the casual onlooker from the smaller & more interesting lights, these are some sort of map to be followed by the helicopter?
The very same helicopter that spends hours every week at a cost of what? R3/R4ks an hour on fuel alone, following the path of these lights as each section is wired up by the Muni?
Still as interesting as ever dont you think?
