MUD-SLINGING...
(begun Friday 24th June at 3.55am..)

@It would appear that my use of the asterisk symbol now irritates my Network Admin, and he blocks it more often than not.. No worries, for I shall use the @ symbol instead.... @

Technically, I suppose you could call it the pre-inaugural Meeting of the brand new Sparks Estate Sector Policing Forum.. Whatever... Where do I sign up?  @grins....
I most definitely have Nayager and Balliram and their continued engineering of copper cable theft, to thank for a great evening....!
Predictably, my Controller flicked the power back on just 15 minutes before my lift was due to arrive, but by then it was way too late for him to change my mind...

With so much advanced warning in the Press et al, they'd had time to wire up the Sydenham Community Hall to the hilt, and it goes without saying that every word uttered at that function would've been relayed back to Balliram and the Crumb over at Dodge City...
Don't ask me for numbers, but for a chilly June evening it was a fine turnout, with the added bonus of getting to meet our new Ward 31 DA Councillor....
Fine-tuned antenna that I've become, I had to stagger outside several times during the proceedings to recover from the sudden onslaught of BackFire and occasional Heatwave...   Nothing like a bit of over-compensation with the technology, hey Laz? @teeth...

In a crowd that size it's impossible to tell friend from foe, but the old Replay mechanism kicks in, and I recall how often I glanced up to find him regarding my Fugliness as a mongoose might a snake... @grins...
He'd come all the way over from his home in Umbilo to be voted onto the Interim Committee, so there's a good chance I'll have the opportunity of finding out where his real affiliations lie, at a later stage...
I guess the cherry on top of the cake was the late arrival of the Head of the Reservoir Hills CPF and his Boyz, and I imagined I could hear the Crumb's teeth grinding with rage as he sat with the other Listeners on the Hill....

Face it Laz - You're simply not cut out to be a plausible Communications Officer, when mischief-making is clearly your forte....
Man,  there are so many wheels within wheels turning at the moment, for all I know this new Sector Forum will be regarded by Barnabas as something else to manipulate if he can...If there was a hope that it would cause divisions between our Sector Forums, it's failed miserably so far, but we'll have to wait and see...
He used to run a nightclub and is au fait with wireless?  Really?  One of yours then Balliram? @mildly interested.... Infiltrator to the totally unsuspecting? Will I last long enough to attend the next SAPS end-of-year function?  Geez, I hope so... *coughs harshly...

Barnabas' Not-So-Secret Operative Colin P. Balliram appears now bent (!) on using the glittering new copper cabling (running down from Carol's abandoned house to the Crescent stop-street) as his latest means of providing misery to the already battered Metro Connect Test Dummies huddled on his circuit....
The GameWrecker didn't return our Good Neighbour's lead once the power was restored last night, but you can pretty much guarantee that once he does, the new lines will be cut again fairly soon....

Saturday 25th June at 4.45am

Clearly Balliram found my earlier reluctance to leave Cloud 9 irksome, as he idly flicked through his vicious repertoire.. When the Sadist says jump, he means jump right away...
I'd gone up yesterday before daybreak to fetch the paper and discovered that while the rest of the circuit were all back and running, Freddie the Accountant at No. 12's streetlight still stood in the dark... @blinks..
Do his kids each have an R18k sleeping net to protect them at night?  Are their windows facing the convent treated with a protective finish?  Any tinnitus?  ADD?  @curious...

It's got to be hard on the wives and mothers ja... Once the reality sunk in that there ARE side-effects, caused purely by the location, if not a zealous Area Controller, do they lie awake wishing they could relocate their family to a safer area? I can only guess that by now they've been forced to adopt a fatalistic attitude and hopefully, the children will remain unscathed.... @shrugs...

When I went back in to the 'cellmast radiation killing you' thread in the Broadband News Forum on mybroadband, it was to find that the DJ had barreled in, in an attempt to recover lost ground, and I have to say it almost worked... *applauds....  He posts far less these days than he used to, and I guess I'd fooled myself into thinking he'd grown up, and was paying proper attention..
Though far less shrill than poor Ronald, he too went after Muller's credentials, but once again it was too little, too late...
Oddly, it doesn't change my opinion of him, and I'll continue to listen to what he has to say, though I'd suggest that the personal attacks should be avoided like the plague, however hard that is to do... The minute the mud-slinging begins, credence flies out the window, though I sort of admire him for trying...

How's the Glenwood/Umbilo LAN coming along BTW?  Any more fires?  People still losing their electrical assets hand over fist?  In such a densely populated area it's guaranteed that wiring up the neighbourhood is going to cause mega-fallout, and that a detached attitude will have been adopted to the mini tragedies that occur daily as a result...
It's the same detached attitude that has prevented any of you from lifting a finger to help us, is it not?
No, I'm not talking to the pathetic individuals who like to suggest that the symptoms we suffer are the product of bored, overworked imaginations...

Incoherent Simpleton that I am, I've nonetheless stuck to my guns when it's come to sharing the sheer magic of wireless with you all, and when I say that it's a weapon that's now as deadly as a nuclear bomb, you really should be paying attention..*yawns...

I was stumbling about the web in my usual tardish fashion last night, when I fell into the old www.wellinformed.co.za site.. (I'll try and remember to find it later and see if it's still operating, but it's unlikely on both counts).  My short-term memory had me startled to find the current bblounge GateKeeper in that ancient thread, though the penny finally dropped as to why the Part-Time Activist may have done a disappearing act...
WhoTF are Steve Hendrickse and Immanuel Pillay and where are they now?  3core?  How's about that old post that google search subsequently threw up from durbanite.co.za?  Mnchunu and Sutcliffe own Ethekwini and you can ask Allen Spence?  @falls on over... I met with a rather predictable dead-end, as the full post made no further mention of the amply rewarded Superintendent of Electricity for Durban, at all....
Quite possibly it was a google search result I was supposed to have found years ago, and had been created simply to cause my tormentors additional mirth as I staggered about blindly, trying to make sense of what was happening to us...

It's anyone's guess how many other such feats of genius were wasted on me over the years...  The sky is clear and I'm off to hang out the laundry... Cheers...

LATER at 8.10am

Things are hotting up in the vendetta between the Narandas and Moodley families...Oops, I mean the Pavilion vs. Roseanne Narandas... @winks..
She's gracing the front page of today's Independent on Saturday (www.tios.co.za) and looking really good..
My claims that cellphones may now be activated to Speaker-phone status remotely, seem to have been shared by Roseanne's business partner, Marco Accolla... @grins... Jade Govender's cellphone would undeniably have been used to relay and record the conversations held at the Tenant's Meeting on Wednesday night, back to a variety of interested parties... *waves to the Racehorse Owner cheerfully...

My kid shops regularly at Roseanne's boutique, and it's hard to fathom why Pareto Limited don't bend over backwards to keep Ooh La La, if it's a customer favourite... Anyone perchance happen to know the names of the Directors and share-holders at Pareto Limited?   @winks...

The GameWrecker says he's had pressure in both ears for the last three or four days, and thinks that he may have acquired a slightly different version of my disgusting head cold.. I've little doubt that come Monday he'll trudge the now familiar path to our GP, who will refer him as always to a Specialist who also has rooms at the San... A lucrative Game, played countrywide, as the Medical fraternity look after each other's interests....
Will it prove to be an expensive head cold, or will the symptoms disappear before Monday?  *waits..

Peace..

Edit at 2.05pm:   www.wellinformed is very much alive and well after all.   I'll take a squiz later if I'm able... cheers...
Edit No. 2:  Discovered I'd named the Rabbit as the would-be rescuer of Ronald instead of the DJ... In my defence they are peas in a pod, and despite their ongoing contempt I generally read their posts with interest... Ag, on second thoughts an Idiot has no defence.....
