BLOWN AWAY..... (Begun on Tuesday 1st April @4.00am..)
I struggle to get my head around so much visual information....*sigh...
I was online at 6.50pm last night when we took a fairly big dip in the system.
I eventually went outside for the first time at about 9.00pm to discover Michan, Mary roads etc totally dark. Whoa!
Not even the brilliant streetlight which shines just behind the rooftop of 72 Michan Road was on... (this has the same white colour as our streetlight). The 'always on' aerial/light in the upper lounge window of No. 72 Michan road was also out..no way of knowing whether our dip coincided with their blackout...
There was however a consolation prize and I found Freddie's new orange light very comforting...I showed the picture I took of it to the GameWrecker and he thought it was the moon I'd captured... orange harvest moon maybe?
The usual busyness on mon Capitano's driveway and the amazing turnover of different vehicles *cackles.....
This morning at 4.00am twas still pitch dark up Michan Road way, though there were two arb. looking lights up by the Ablution Block when I climbed the stairs...all Line of Sight not so? *smiles...
The 'smart' windows upstairs at the orphanage were not activated though there were lights on and more down at the Recreation Centre...
As i started up the stairs to the top I was overwhelmed by nausea...a feeling that I can only put down to mild nicotine poisoning... the pressure in my head was amazing this morning as Bali hunted for my personal frequency...*laughing...
Occasionally as I sit in my corner of the lounge I do get an actual whine in my ears and figure that he hits the spot for a nano-second...*rolls its eyes....
Should I be taking samples of our tap water when I rise in the morning? Dating them and storing them safely for some later date/investigation?.. Naa, why bother - whats done is done hey guys?...*shrugs....
The perve/bedroom sensor is flaunting itself this morning as are the lights over at the Senior Boys Hostel.
The Captain's electric gates are being left open about 4 inches which in the past has meant a power-cut was going to take place... the Mary/Michan Road blackout? Who knows.... Our turn next? Pfftt.....
Later:
And now, some 5 hours later.... My word, was that last paragraph portentious! *keels over laughing... our power was summarily switched off at 8.30am! The entire series right up to the Treasurer's house turned off just like that....*sigh...
and the bullying continues...get used to it as I have and you will be fine....
I could hear a ladder and even a bit of hammering at the Captain's house after the power-cut. I shall look forward to the changes....
I was fortunate enough to be allowed to access #trivia this morning at 5.45am though my attempt to type took over 10secs+ to appear on the screen..*laughs....
I did manage to say that mon Capitano was freaking out before we lost our Internet Connection altogether...*chuckles....
It is funny to see how the oilyboy constantly feels the need to confirm his fealty to Captain Courageous *snorts.... He is really good at trivia but alas not too bright in other departments...*shifts along and makes room on the Idiots Bench....
See, I've figured out that if my trivia answers appear before utonium gives the answer, I am quite content. Just to get it spelled right and down fast is all it takes to keep me happy...*beams.. The Captain is my captive audience and sees how I do - what more can a toad ask for?
There are some amazing players and cheesy-sounding though it may be, I cant help but be awed by their skillz....*nods....
Even Later:
10.30am and the delicious smells emanating from No. 6 would suggest a braai in progress...Many muffled sounds of work being hastily done, ladders and spades? The odd quiet word here and there... No sound of anyone actually enjoying themselves yet.... Tis like a treasure hunt for me and I am only too happy to sit quietly and wait, in the hope that at some point in the future, the changes will be revealed....*beams widely...
At 11.15am I am unsurprised to see a horde of adults and kids enjoying themselves on the playing field. With the power off (except for St Theresa's) right up into Sydenham there can be little risk involved....
I rang Sister Stephens over at the Convent at midday and established that they too lost their power at 8.30am but it came back on at 11.30am in time for the function on the playing field....a veritable MIRACLE *chuckles...
Early Tuesday evening now:
7.30pm and the power is still out here in the Crescent. I'd had a very happy day and cooked the GameWreckers supper with ease on the Cadac. Sue the Book had popped over for a visit and we'd had a good laugh together though not all that she told me was amusing...more about that another time....
After dusk the full moon rose and bathed the whole valley in almost neon light... I stood out on the front lawn watching the fun and games as one of the GateKeepers slung an orange port-a-light on the bottom wall by the Recreation Centre... then Mohamed at No. 2 began flashing his searchlight down the gumtrees across the way several times... the huge overhead light aka the Mothership sat cold and dark and even Bali's ghostly looking streetlight had finally expired. Not a LED to be seen *smiles....
The Automatic Voice on the Electricity Fault line says the blackout covers a vast area... what it doesnt say is how come St. Theresa's has power? *falls over laughing...
The chopper dances across the city horizon in the moonlight at 6.45pm..busy, busy, busy......
