OF SHIPS AND SHOES......
It was overcast early this morning. Much like my mood. A slight fumble at 4.45am as I walked on the verandah. Mo Kassims remote goes off...heh... An economy drive up at the orphanage itself showed very few lights, which the Senior Boys Hostel More than made up for...*smiles.
Much activity up on the road and I went up to find No. 7 pulling out of his drive with his wekkers. A newly placed ficus tree in his garden will soon give cover to both my Personal GateKeeper and his sensor, in the house above. No problem as I have clear pictures of the latter and can study Mike Olivers fine portrait to see a near enough resemblance to Bert....*laughs..
I have to predict that it is indeed going to be a long weekend. One which, at any point, our remaining bandwidth can disappear and no doubt, for inexplicable reasons GW will be unable to top up. *beams....
Ah yes - if Bruce (kiep-kiep) Poole, the elusive iBurst Manager at tradepage (our pseudo-server), does not read my blog regularly, I have no doubt that the Master of On-line Gossip, my own dear Bali, will have pointed Bruce to the relevant blog. (the one where I claimed Bruce appeared to be a LavvyLurker?) *grins....
The results? A fairly neat corruption of our Bandwidth Monitor and no apparent / visible sign of the GameWreckers April bandwidth supply. This in spite of the stoporder clearly showing the fee has gone through to tradepage.
Dear GameWrecker managed to rise from his lethargy long enough to call tradepage in Johannesburg and be told 'there is a problem with the Bandwidth Monitor"....*laughing....
How tidily Bali has arranged 'the Revenge of the Chicken'.. and again I have to say he is well worth every penny he is paid by the Extremely Crooked.....
I had already called the local tradepage office and spoken to Hilary to query the lack of Bandwidth. I believe after her first hello, her very next words were "Hows the blogging?" *beams at Hilary....
So, there you have it, there is a good chance we will be off the Internet before the weekend is out *grins... Lame power playing it is, but effective.....*
No lights at all visible on St. Theresa's church this morning. Strange it being Easter an all? Is it possible that the only lights EVER visible are those attached by the Beast?
I was allowed in to #trivia this morning as usual between 6-7am and then shut down the PC.
The oddest coincidence occurred at about 8.45am. The GameWrecker had finally gotten up and was attempting to log on when he somehow knocked over the keyboard.
The Captain's house alarm appeared to go off immediately. It was allowed to run for some time. Needless to say the GameWrecker in the meantime was given an Error 691 and couldnt connect heh. He rebooted and then our Hero's remote did several hectic chirrups... Still Error 691 so he gave up and shut down. Only this evening, when he tried again to connect, did he finally realise that the keyboard might be the culprit and voila! He retyped our addie and password into the Connect window and problem solved...
We are truly a match made in Heaven...*chuckles...
Which still leaves the matter of the chaos this simple clumsy act seemed to cause next door at No. 6? *laughing.... Interesting?
Now lets go back to Wednesday 4th. It was late afternoon and as usual I took Sophie up for a sniff around the verge after opening the gates.
She'd found a fresh mole run and was halfway to Beijing when, with perfect timing, down the Crescent strolled Adrian Kingsley puffing on a fag...
He nodded politely to me and said good evening as he passed. He appeared unscathed after his flamboyant arrest the previous Friday. The only difference being the pale shaved area of his skull where his orange dreads once grew.
He carried on down and crossed Jan Smuts, heading towards Mayville...not likely that he would head up to Baron's while I was watching heh....
And so - yet another entirely fabricated scenario in my opinion. I do find the accusation of child-rapist rather over the top quite frankly *looks at Carol.....and would ask that your many script-writers go for something less distasteful...how about a straight knifing?
It is almost as though a great jostling of elbows is going on as each one tries for a script more outrageous than the last... an awful lot of time and money to earn a few hollow laughs surely? My, what levels have been sunk to... Let me see....
So far we have had a Hijack Chase, an armed mugging of schoolchildren and ensuing helicopter chase, a 'suicide' and now a child-molester arrested....
and all the while in between, we have Sabeera and the Essays burgled and Sue the Books kid had his motorbike stolen...
It sort of gives you an idea of the 'authorities' priorities here in Sherwood....*cackles...
The new bright green light fixed in the lounge window of Glynnis old house at 72 Michan Road has the distinct smell of red herring about it *smiles.... Your are playing Test the Tard once again?
I cannot see the properties bordering the playing field from here, only the excessive amount of lighting thats gone up.... Little wonder there is a huge rates hike round the corner.
Pressure way down with the water supply too, so that is still being deliberately run off throughout Sherwood.
According to the newspapers, we can expect up to 5 years of further blackouts and powercuts until the vast Big Brother scheme is fully up and running....
Course, that is without the inevitable 'acts of god' that will doubtless occur along the way..... Peace....
PS 6.15pm and I am up the top in time to see a Big Knob in a KZN Traffic vehicle cruise slowly up the Crescent. At least 4 SAPS Bakkies going up and down. One of them driven by that staunchest of cops, Tiger *beams....
My pleasure at seeing all these boys in blue is genuine and I only wish it were reciprocated *sighs.....
The other thing.... I discovered very recently that our Outlook Express has been tampered with *grins at Bali. The few mails received during 2007 had vanished mysteriously. I went to look for the usual tax invoice we receive each month with out bandwidth from tradepage. Course it wasnt there. Tonight? There it is! Yay!!. I have yet to try the dodgy Bandwidth Monitor and see if they have 'fixed' the problem.... and will let you know.... all fascinating as usual......

PSS... according to the tax invoice found this evening in Outlook, it was sent on the 5th April... NOT. Course My Master will cunningly have blocked it till this evening but hey.... I then went over to check the Bandwidth and still nothing has come in for April... Nice one guys... I still get the little window bob up when i open the Bandwidth Monitor, saying Your Certificate expired on 1.4.2007 check your times etc.... when I queried this with Hilary she blithely said that she also gets that window and just to click next and carry on regardless..... seems rather odd to me to say the least? WTF?
