SO, IN THE BEGINNING.............. part V
Mr. Howard Whitehead,
Ethekwini Electricity Dept.
Jelf Taylor Crescent
DURBAN.
28TH October, 2005.
Dear Mr. Whitehead,
re HIGHLY-TECHNICAL COMPUTERISED ANTI-THEFT DEVICES FITTED TO STREETLIGHTS OUTSIDE NUMBERS 6 AND 8 HARRIS CRESCENT, SHERWOOD, DURBAN.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regarding my visit to your offices today to deliver a further letter addressed for your personal attention. Your Secretary, Mrs. Rosemary Naidoo adivsed me that the original set of three letters had been sent to Mr. Rudolph Mhlope.
In the light of this information, I wish to make it very clear that I do not hold Mr. Mhlope, Mr. Makhoba, Mr. Chris Gower or Mrs. Rani Gobichand responsible in any way for this matter.
I firmly believe that these people were only ever told half-truths and were led to believe that it was merely some sort of prank.
Mr. Mike Oliver too was merely following Mr. Spence's orders and cannot be blamed in spite of being well aware that the job was indeed far from a prank.
My interest lies mainly with Mr. Allen Spence, the so-called Projects Manager for the above system. His specific role leads me to wonder whether he is in any way associated with my neighbour, Prakash Balliram, residing at Number 6 Harris Crescent, and with whom your department now advises us, we share a fuse!
Despite the removal of the 2 so-called dummy boxes I feel our situation is as vulnerable as ever. The series of lights numbers 6 up to 26 still burn at different hours to the rest of the area and the streetlight outside Number 6 itself still has unexplained pilot lights on it.
With this in mind I shall continue to lodge copies of this correspondence in safe-keeping in the event of an accident occurring, at either 6 or 8 Harris Crescent.
Once again, I wait with interest for your personal reply.
Sincerely,
Jane Lovejoy
PS in the event that Mr. Whitehead is not available I would request that the acting Electricity Manager, Raj Dhrochand be given this mail.
cc. Mr. R. Mhlope, Mr. T. Makhoba, Chris Gower, Rani Gobichand and Mike Oliver.
