PIPE DREAMS....
(Sunday at 3.30am)
Having posted recently on myadsl that here in the Zone its the Mthiyane Contractors that are the most flavoursome, it was quite startling to see how quickly the Biz Afrika dudes crawled out of the woodwork...*cackles...
There certainly have been other contractors about, and they all appear to use the same signwriter! (see albums)
When I pulled into West Riding Row last Thursday, and saw the two bakkies parked off under the trees here, I saw only the Beast....
However, on closer inspection they were revealed to be two of Biz Afrika's vans....*grins...
So there you have it...
It appears that Telkom themselves are creating these pseudo-bee companys.... seriously...*nods..
I doubt there is any way of checking up as phoning Raj at 031-303 3558 or 083 775 1075 is unlikely to net you the truth....*grins...
These contact details are displayed clearly on the side of some of the boards used along with others giving Kenny Nzama as the man to call....*smiles..
Can they be tracked back to Telkom itself? Unlikely that such a loose thread would be left uncovered... hmmm..
I took a ride around the Zone yesterday morning. Going down Summit Drive in West Riding, I discovered that since last week, the site overlooking the new Mall and across to Reservoir Hills that had the No. 15 sign and the shiny blue 4x4 (see pics) has now been fully fenced off here.
As i sat studying the changes, this white Mercedes pulled up some distance behind me and idled...
Undeterred, I eventually reversed up back past him intending to include his car in a picture..*grins.. At which stage he drove on down the road, did a U-turn and came back up, creating a great shot...*laughing...
So tell me now - who owns this white Merc ND 184-865?
Could it be one of the Naroth Clan themselves? A name that has graced my blog previously as living in Candella Road and having a barely concealed pipe jutting out from their verge here with a water runoff that was endless.....
I've a series of pictures, including one showing three Durban Muni Water Dept. vehicles hastily arriving as I snapped the leak....*falls over....
The Naroths have had their property in Candella Road up for sale for some time now.
Are they indeed the same family that are now developing this amazing site in Summit Drive, West Riding? The Forest Office Park, and the contact details are naroth@mweb.co.za or 031-2071375. Interesting....
Driving down Candella Road I found that water is still being run off freely down the road...*startled..
But now it is coming from No. 35. here.
Another property that caught my attention a long time back as it adjoins our CPF Vice-Chair's driveway and has a Telkom Wireless Box on the property facing her house...*chuckles... here
I gather that neither our Vice-Chair nor her husband were honoured with an invitation to join the Wimax Trialists?
Too honest? She may have raised some awkward questions as to the legalities of these Trials?
If she had been offered free or reduced Muni utility rates would she have smelled a rat?
Fosho she would - so they were carefully excluded from the invitation list...*cackling...
She is another Debbie2, and to be treated very cautiously, as she certainly would take no prisoners when it comes to corruption...*applauds..
While the Northcliffe Ave entrance off Jan Hofmyer Road streetlights are at last out, driving further afield netted me yet more dodginess....
Along Vause Road for example.... all the way past DHS School see pics numerous streetlights were active mid-morning. And of course the UDW/Essex Terrace flyoff is Always On as the huge Westwood Mall races towards completion...
I proved yet again that I am capable of classic blunders by posting a misspelled URL for www.ballitolife.co.za on myadsl...*falls over...
And yes, I did indeed go check it and still saw it as only having one L I swear....*shrugs...
My ongoing plonkerism changes nothing...
The fact remains that Derek Taylor's article in that publication, on the mercury content of the free lightbulbs Eskom are urging us to use, should be a wakeup call...
The link kindly added by another poster said it all...
One or our CFL bulbs packed in last week and I circle it with no idea how to dispose of the darned thing...*laughs... Just toss it in the bin as thousands of homeowners will surely do?
Nicely thought out there Eskom! *gags...
I have to wonder what mutant specimens will walk the earth some hundred years from now as a direct result of mercury poisoning....*shrugs... Not a consideration made by the Greedy and Corrupt at all...
The strange looking machinery now parked off in the Abery road corner of the Sherwood Hall parkland has caused a small stir among the residents...
The Hall Caretaker says he approached them and was told they are boring for water...
I slowed down and watched yesterday as this mlungu kick-started the strange machine into life...
Why on earth would they be looking for water, when just further down Abrey Road on the corner of Raftery here there is an enormous bog demarcated by red and white tape...
From this rank mess runs clear water back down Sparks Road...*curious...
That this water leak has been running for months unattended, surely means that there is water to waste so why bore for a well in the Park? *laughing...
Dirty work at the crossroads?
If I were to approach the Imam at the Madressa and suggest that if it is they that commissioned the drilling, they are wasting their funds? *shrugs..
Later:
On our walk this morning we chatted to the young man living on site in a caravan next to the water boring machine. They have had success and found water and are now going to lay pipes across the parkland to the Madressa on Harris Crescent.... weirdness...
Loads of interesting things to see as we walked, and I talked the hind leg off a donkey all the way...*cackles..
Trying to learn as much as I can about an area I've lived in for over thirty years, is hard work...*smiles...
More about that next time...
23 year old Daniel Millar didn't make it after all...
The youngster I blogged that needed the bone-marrow transplant?
He left on Wednesday after falling into a coma.
If any of you were kind enough to donate funds they will now go to the horrendous medical costs his bereaved parents face.... harsh hey?
Peace julle...
