THE LIFE OF A FOOL....
(begun Saturday at 9.00pm)
It is always possible that my Hero's celebratory gathering last night was to honour the first lighting of his stunning new poolside light....*grins..
Sure the housing is the original, but the light on top is vastly different to the old one... a rich golden yellow and, stood next to his existing neon patio light and the fairly new light on the wall of his house - this one wins hands down for beauty...*beams...
A beacon in the night fosho...*cackles..
Is it a convertible or purely a direction finder?
Sunday at 5.15am:
It must have rained in the night. Still full cloud cover, so its as bright as day outside... I watch while I walk on the verandah... someone moves about over by the Playing field...*cackles...
My view changes now daily as new growth on shrubs and trees occurs.... a Port-a-light on the ground outside the Recreation Centre windows? It speaks to Bali's new poolside light?
I hear the dogs over in Barnard road/Rose Avenue doing their WTF barking as the Senior Boys Hostel activate the wireless signals inaudibly....
Interesting to note the huge orange Port-a-light down by the Servant's Quarters has been off for a few nights... is it the same light only now moved much closer to the Rec. Centre?
My Master's poolside light may well be just that, as he certainly wouldn't have had his buddy's kids playing out there at Friday nights 'do' were it otherwise....
Of course there is always the activate and de-activate option to add to the mix. Looking down at this new acquisition 10 minutes ago - it is as blogged, a beauty and worthy of a place in my album...*smiles...
The sounds in the valley this morning are all Nature's ordinary noises after the rain.. lovely stuff...*grins..
Later:
It must have been soon after 6.00am when I was in #trivia, that there was a loud knock under the desk here in the corner...that would be the same noise that woke Sophie and had her tearing through to the lounge in the early hours a few weeks ago? (blogged) The PC itself creaks and groans, so I think we can safely add this to the list of things to look/listen for, if you suspect that Telkom and your local Muni have linked you up to their amazing Data-Theft grid...*grins...
The Courageous Captain seem unable to avoid announcing his presence noisily...*beams.
The chopper just sailed past heading south on this lovely grey, wet day. Busy, busy busy.....
Now 8.05am
I took a hike up to the top to find all of Sabeera's (No. 18) weird and wonderful lights/aerials still on. Though the gate pillar ball lights appear to be off, I'm betting they are still doing their job as well....*smiles...
The orange bell-tower light at the church is off, despite much bell ringing earlier...Service over?
A huge brilliant white light/aerial was on early this morning, to the left of the blue building across at St. Theresa's... I already have several good pictures of that particular installation and the so fat cable that runs from end to end across the brick wall...*grins..
All this light chatter may well bore you to tears....may I suggest that you tell someone who cares? Lights are my Life!...*keels over laughing...
I forgot to mention that on the way home from the shops on Friday, I slowed to a crawl to watch in awe, as a river of water ran down the road from No. 64 Harris Crescent. You could actually see little wavelets in the water as it ran....*beams..
Whether these deliberate run-offs are better for the residents health in the long run or not, I put them up next to Herr Dokter Sutcliffe's 18% rates increase and will continue to blog them as they are seen....
Corruption at its finest.....*grins...
Later:
I've been throwing out a fraction of the note books i've scribbled in over the years since this area became the Muni/Telkom test zone...
Let me share with you an undated note I made some years back and found this afternoon...
>Rang Allen Spence at 9.25am to suggest while power is officially out, he repairs fault on Poles outside No. 6 and 8 Harris Crescent.
He now insists that the white boxes are simply fuse boxes for the Highly Technical Computerised Anti-theft Devices (which has now moved to the Highway pole outside Mr. Kasim's house at No. 2)
Spoke to Chris Gouwer at 9.45am who hooked up a conference line to Allen Spence, who proceeded to give his BBB speed talk.
Its only going to run at night now.<
If you have been following from the beginning, you will recall this was the same conversation where Chris Gouwer said quite clearly, "so there is nothing illegal attached to these poles Allen?"
The same Allen Spence who, last I heard, had earned himself the title of Superintendent of Electricity for Durban. *falls over laughing....
Peace...
