SO WHAT IF I GET IT WRONG...
(Begun at 4.15am Sunday)
I switched off the outside lights at 3.45am and sat in the dark on the verandah with Thomas and Kitz for a while... the moon lit up the front garden clearly. Banks of cloud were still scudding down from the North and everything sodden and dripping from the rain...
A very bright falling star shot down towards Entabeni Hospital and vanished... is it meteor season or what??
What sounds to be crickets down Basil's way, but could of course have been downloaded from a Chinese "Listen to Cricket Song' website....*cackles...
Nothing at all like the solid wall of cricket -sound made when the Wireless system is humming in the valley... a sound I haven't heard for a while oddly enough. Maybe I've not been paying sufficient attention is all....?
Royce Love's little ginger cat is by now making his hazardous way to wherever it is he holes up during the day.
Nope, that problem is still pending. If I can catch him at sparrows one morning, and get him into the cat basket - would I be sending him to a terrifying death? Ag, I think way too much hey... *sighs....
I logged off shortly after 8.30pm last night and the dips to our system began immediately.. constant flickers to the lights....*looks at the Courser parked facing us at the bottom of Balis driveway...
I'm guessing the sensor so clearly visible on that front tyre was activated as I shut down? What is it in the garage that needs the light on overnight? No flashing green sparkly lights anymore so...?
And still mon Capitano's streetlight remains ostensibly out...a dodgy situation for Sue the Book and her kid, if they leave the house at night... from her angle she cannot see the phosphorescent glow, and the so clear sensors which reveal the streelight to be very much alive.
Just before bedtime last night I went out to find all systems back up and running.. a huge orange light on a property in Wragge Road bordering the playing field? I do actually have some good pictures of that area, as previously blogged. Muni- Blue- suited workers crawling all over the properties and much renovating being done.....*beams....
5.35am Been up for a stroll and quick dekko... nothing on at the Ablution Block this morning, so kids will be allowed onto the playing field today right? *hawks.....
The top three floors of offices in the Howard College tower are cranked to the maximum. Is that neon? Amazing.... the aerial on the top however, is out.
The Recreation windows are lit and the Senior boys Hostel is doing its bit...
My Master's patio light is on and the tiny sound of the tickertape monitor busily working (the pool cleaner is MUCH noisier)
The overhead light across the Freeway is back on.
*looks like its going to be a stunning day here in the Zone...
Later at 8.15am:
The single round window on St. Theresa's church tower is activated....
A correction must be made on my part regarding having 'seen' similar ochre coloured curtains hanging in Bert's front room windows, to the blind that hangs in Bali's front bedroom window.
I stood for ages earlier and then came down and compared the photos again. Yes, the same colour - but tis the sun shining through Bert's side window onto the back bedroom wall and not curtains at all (see pic) So in fact, if Balis blind with the bound edge is some sort of protection, then tis little wonder that Berts daughter, using that front room, is getting shocking headaches...*sigh...
Of course it could always be that the end room at Balis gets the most morning sun and the blind was on a Special Offer? Pfft... Lawd I love this Game..... *shrieks....
I noticed an audible whine coming from the fridge just after 7.00am. Something different? It's taking strain from the multitudes of mini-surges visible in the dipping lights?
Or is it just time for us to lose a major appliance courtesy of Koobair and mon Capitan? *shrugs.....
You should take a look at Harold Strachan's piece in the latest Noseweek. In spite of him getting on in years, he is so very readable and gives a marvellous insight into what those guys went through, standing up for their beliefs.
Good guys are getting harder to find, especially here in the Zone...*cackles...
And finally, a reminder to the Heroic One.... I had absolutely no idea you were out the day I recently sent mails to Noseweek and Ballito Life.
Both of your cars were parked in the driveway so why would I think they were decoys? *beams...
Not for a minute did I anticipate getting anything other than the Failed Mail Delivery advice I've consistently received over the years, when trying to call for help....*grins...(remembers all those blocked SAPS sites fondly...and crashing the PC each time we tried sending SOS's to the IRC cops....)
So my advice would be to go out and enjoy yourself and have some fun. The exercise and fresh air may do wonders for your tolerance levels....
*exists muttering..... and you may end up treating this old toad with a fraction more kindness....
